The books of the New Testament were written during a period that lasted a little over 50 years. They record the history of Jesus’ ministry on earth and the expansion of the church after Christ’s ascension. They give us a better understanding of the early church, and they provide a solid foundation for Christian theology. They also include stories, parables, songs, epistles, poetry, apocalyptic literature, and many other literary genres. This book gives a brief overview of the literature found in the New Testament. It summarizes the content of each New Testament book, and it makes some general comments about how to apply these books in today’s world.
